WinOLS is an application, which is written especially to modify the memory contents of ECUs. Taken straight from the EVC site, this is WinOLS in a nutshell – my main goal is to reduce the time it takes you to pick up the software and work with it, and also to understand ECU’s correctly to be able to tune them with the knowledge and best practice. Which is the reason behind me starting this site. but unless you do some hard reading on the ecu you are working with, you will just be guessing those changes, which isnt practical and can waste alot of time. Things like A2L files and map packs help a little. I was now faced with a bunch of numbers which didnt make sense, and a load of green lines with no real information of what they was. I knew how to tune an engine from using Standalone systems, but the difference between those and WinOLS was huge. The first aftermarket software I picked up was WinOLS, and it came with a very long learning curve, with no real information online for how to best use the software, and no real training courses available.
